Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Government Medical College is developing newly. Presently we are in the midst of tide of concern for the development of the new college and we are passing through a challenging and exciting period. We are developing excellent infrastructure with the vision to foster excellence in medical education to deliver quality health care. The binding philosophy of this institution will be to train the students to provide the highest standards of patient care and research activities

Purpose drives excellence. When a group of people come together, united in that purpose and fuelled by passion, they can truly move mountains. It gives me immense pleasure to be the second MSVP of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Uluberia (SCCGMCH). We are going through our dream journey from August 2022, as the first Medical College in Howrah district of West Bengal. It was established as Uluberia Sub divisional hospital, more than five decades back. Now the Hospital has grown into a recognized center for patient care in the state. A team of well-trained medical staff, non-medical staff, nursing staff, experienced clinical technicians along with a team of expert doctors, work round the clock to offer healthcare services making it the most sought after hospital in Howrah district. It is set up by the Government of West Bengal and is functioning under the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.

Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Government Medical College & Hospital has been established with the twin objectives of nurturing the students admitted in MBBS course to become successful doctors in due course as well as to serve the society through its multispecialty hospital (both secondary & tertiary medical care). Our vision is to make our institution a center of academic excellence through appropriate innovative and need based patterns of teaching and learning, which are student centered, problem based and community oriented. Our emphasis will be on developing the right kind of attitude and humane approach in treating the sick and needy. To achieve this we have excellent, experienced and dedicated faculty who are all trained in advanced level teaching technologies. We have the state of the art, tertiary care, multispecialty hospital with all the modern diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. The hospital serves to care for the patients as well as an excellent laboratory to learn medicine. The college is equipped with modern laboratories, lecture halls with modern A. V. aids etc. and excellent library facilities with reference books, national and international journals, & advanced digital library. Working as a team, we will be consistent and sincere in our efforts to facilitate training for compassionate, caring and competent Doctors for our state.

We have taken up a long project to build a new Medical college & Hospital at Uluberia. Our medical College, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Government Medical College & Hospital is a pride for this whole district as well as State.

Hope our students will add more glory and fame to this college. Our faculties and staff under the guidance of the Principal are striving hard for the all round development of the college.
